Glider: spinning beachball c. every half hour

info: os X v 10.8.5

macbook pro

Glider 2 updated

I get a spinning beach ball around every half hour (sometimes every 15 minutes), which lasts for

about 30 sec to one minute.

Other apps are still fully responsive at these times. (Though after about a day of working in Glider, the whole system becomes increasingly sluggish until I shut Glider down- then it’s back to normal).

Is there a setting somewhere I can click/ turn something off?

Sometimes what we’re doing is complex, and we’re keeping a lot of information in mind as we write. The constant interruptions by the software doing something mysterious in the background is becoming a bit of a headache. I’ve loved Glider since it was Cider, but really hope there’s something in settings I can opt

out to fix this.

Thanks

BTW- I should say Glider has been great, and I appreciate everything the Glider team has done to make

a great IDE for Corona.

Possibly this is being caused by Autosave… though the 20 autosave folders appear to be empty.

I’ll try turning off Autosave and see if Glider pauses so frequently.

Is there any other scanning/update checking/whatnot that Glider might be performing around every

10- 20 minutes?

Turning off Autosave did not reduce this behavior.

I should also add that there are no notifications anywhere on the interface telling me what it’s doing (scanning plugins

or for updates or something).

Is no one else having this issue? It’s not just at startup- I realize people have posted about that. Oddly I don’t have that

problem.

Hello Roboward,

Sorry about the late response in getting to you. Have you tried using Java 8 as described in this thread?

http://forums.coronalabs.com/topic/40033-stuck-with-spinning-beach-ball-at-launch/

If that does not work then you can reduce the scanning level and see if that works, you can do that like this:

In any case, please let us know if it works or does not work.
