Going from old paid edition to Corona Starter

Hi,

If you have an expired Indie account with CoronaSDK, is it possible to switch the same account to Starter Edition?

What steps is necessary to take to make this work?

Is it possible to use older stable versions with a new Starter Edition (if they are installed on the computer)? (Or even older daily builds previous to the current stable build?)

jensto:

  1. All accounts are either Pro or Starter. So if you had an account that in the past was Indie/Pro but has expired, then it is now Starter by default. No further actions are necessary for this.

  2. If you are using a non-subscriber account, then you cannot use daily builds (old or new). You need to use a public release build to do builds.

Does that answer the questions?

Thank you for your answer, David.

Did not realize that the expired account reverted automatically to Starter. So, the pop-up will always remain until a new paid subscription is purchased. Is that correct?

On the other topic: Can an old stable version be used in starter edition? I am thinking if you work an older project that used the widget library that is replaced for example.

jensto,

Yes, for now the popup is there. We are going to tone it down in the next public release though.

Yes, you can use any old public release with Starter. However, just so you know, you can use the old widget library with newer builds. See the bottom of this post to see how you can include the old widgets: http://www.coronalabs.com/blog/2013/02/22/widget-2-0-is-here-bam/

Great, that is good to know and thank you for the link.
