Submitted my binary and received a message that I’m using the Advertising IDFA. The app does not serve any ads but uses the Google Analytics plugin. Does anybody have any experience with this problem?
Submitted your binary to which store (Google, Apple, Amazon, …)? I’m assuming GooglePlay, but you should always be extra clear when posting.
Just for giggles too. What version of Corona are you using?
All ad and analytics providers collect the IDFA if they can. That is how they know who the users are.
I suspect you got this message from Apple’s app store. This is what you need to do when submitting the app with an analytics system in it…
-
When asked “Does this app use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA)?” click yes.
-
Under the “This app uses the IDFA to:”. Toggle on the “Attribute this app installation to a previously served advertisement” option.
-
If your app shows ads from a provider then you need to toggle on the “Serve advertisement within the app” option too.
-
Toggle on the “Limit Ad Tracking” agreement.
Now your app will not be rejected for using the IDFA
