Google incremental achievement support

Hi there,

I’m wondering what has happened to the incremental achievement feature.

In the blog post from June 25, 2013 - which is almost a year ago - you write:

Internally, GPGS supports a “counter” which can be incremented but not decremented; this feature is not yet supported in Corona, but it may be in the near future.

Are there any plans on implementing this important feature?

Achievements on Android lack an important feature because of this :frowning:

Greetings from Germany,

Marcel

This has not been added yet.  The engineers are super busy working on other fixes and tasks.  I agree this can be important, and the best way to draw attention to the need is to fill out a feature request at http://feedback.coronalabs.com and get your issue voted up.

Rob

Thanks for the reply Rob.

For anyone interested in this feature, please vote for http://feedback.coronalabs.com/forums/188732-corona-sdk-feature-requests-feedback/suggestions/6007985-add-support-for-percentcomplete-with-achievement

I hope to see this feature added in the near future.

Marcel

An important note to anyone using Android achievements:

Due to the fact that incremental achievements aren’t supported it  impossible to unlock them with Corona.

I thought I’d just be able to increment the achievements myself and simply unlock 100% if they’re completed.

This results in the following error:

Achievement ACHIEVEMENT_ID is incremental, and cannot be unlocked.

Since achievements on Android can’t be deleted after publishing them, it’s impossible to use these achievements in Corona, which results in deleting  the game in Google Play and adding it again with correct achievements.

This is badly needed Corona! There are some much needed features that should be added. I imagine this is very low hanging fruit, let’s get it done please! I think this could probably be coded in about 5 minutes by a Corona dev!

We have open sourced the plugins now to give Enterprise subscribers more samples of how to build plugins.  You can download this from our github repository and add it yourself.  If you do a pull request, and we like the changes we will merge them back in for the rest of the community.

In the mean time, if you want us to do it, please vote up a request at http://feedback.coronalabs.com.
