I agree with Brad.Lyons
Anything that we can do to assist (i.e. test, etc.)?
Fingers crossed as this is, indeed, important to all of us.

Best we can do at the moment is to fill out the survey:

Hope this ends better than I think it will. Aug 1 is right around the corner and we would need at least a month to test our whole fleet of apps with this “rebuild” of Corona SDK.
As developers we already know from experience that big overhauls like this are going to introduce a lot of new bugs and stability issues that would normally need months of ironing out. I’d be concerned with a 64bit overhaul releasing in April, let alone June or July (at the latest I hope!!). We really needed this change done months ago, with months of stability fixes and time to test.
Corona lost the ability to publish to Samsung a couple years ago, lost the ability to do ads with Appodeal (Corona’s owner!) on Amazon last year, and now we’re looking at potentially no publishing to Google Play? The old Corona community would be rioting about this but so many faces are gone, likely already ported to a different SDK.
We do appreciate the work of the remaining Corona team, we know you guys are trying to pull miracles (pun intended) here. Please don’t let us down.
Better to publish an unstable app than having all apps completely removed from the store, losing all related reviews, ratings and purchases.
I believe this August deadline means you can’t publish anything new, and you cannot update your games anymore. That’s still very bad, but not total game over. That said, if your app gets removed (not suspended) for any minor reason you would have no way of actually re-publishing it, so I’d advise everyone in getting your updates in now and stable (including store listings).
That said, the total removal of apps comes a bit later. Google set these dates back in Dec 2017 and we’re going to scrambling last second with little time to test, if this deadline is reached at all. I don’t understand how Corona can’t share ANY date with us. Are we weeks out? Will it be last second? Will we even have anything at all? I would have hoped this change would have been highest priority back in 2017/2018, not 2 short months away from being cutoff from the largest app market in the world…
Here’s Google’s post on this, with all relevant dates: https://android-developers.googleblog.com/2019/01/get-your-apps-ready-for-64-bit.htmlt
I totally understand how everyone feel as I have many Android apps developed using Corona SDK. I have also just renewed the subscription the splash screen and Admob plugin to show my support. My biggest concern now is that if you guys continue to push Corona team for an update and owners feel that this engine is going nowhere, they may just pull the plug totally and discontinue this product. That will definitely be a catastrophic outcome.
This email was in my spam lol so Im getting the news now rip.
If I dont update my update to 64 bit, what will happen exactly?
Also can’t we move this to General Discussion.
This is a pretty important thread ya know.
Last year google forced all developers to make their apps oreo compatible within a certain period of time.
All apps that have not been updated by the deadline were removed from the app store.
Not true, there are plenty apps not updated since 2015.
I’d hope Google will at most suspend an app instead of removing them completely.
That’s just a little bit harsh lol.
Yah, everything I’ve read says UPDATES have to be 64-bit after August 1st. People here are acting like all our apps will be removed. Am I missing something?
Not to say this still isn’t important, as updates are critical to ongoing support of an app. But it also gives us some breathing room here if Corona doesn’t get this done in time.
Just read the previous e-mail they sent, again, and I don’t see any implications of removal. Like @kbradford said, they want 64-bit updates after the deadline or you won’t be able to update the app. That’s what I understand from that warning e-mail.
that’s right. the problem is that if by some change of Google policies it is necessary to upload an update to comply with the new policy, then we could not do it and by violating the policy run the risk of being eliminate apps. I hope I do not have that bad luck
Based upon working with Corona for the past 3 years of game releases, I am confident they will complete the new 64-bit version with enough time for us to rebuild our apps. With that said, if you are using plugins not developed by Corona, you should check with the makers of such plugins to be sure they will are prepared to be 64-bit compliant. But as I said, I’m confident Corona will get it done for us. Keep checking here or the Corona blog for updates:

All I can say is that we did not manage to update our apps in time last year to make them Oreo compatible. ALL of them have been removed from the store and we were not able to update them anymore.
The API targeting (I think you are referring to) was applied to all new apps and updates. It didn’t explicitly remove apps targeting API levels under 26. This game was last updated 25 July 2014.
Last year more than 500,000 apps were removed from Google Play for many reasons. Maybe yours were removed for another policy violation.
So the last update was a week ago, any updates now?
Been following this thread for a while. In my eyes the Corona team can alleviate a lot of these are we there yet posts by publishing a running list of what still needs done, and what has been done with the android 64 bit update.
This way we can track progress as well.
Thanks guys.
^I can dig that.
