Google Play Game Services Real-Time Multiplayer game example

I just finished a test app with source code that implements the entire (including Real-Time) Corona SDK Google Play Game Services Plugin that I want to share with the community:

Check out Rob Miracle’s tutorial on how to setup GPGS on Google Play.

Cheers,

Warren

So what are your saying exactly? You made a sample real time multiplayer game?

Yes, I made an example app that has code examples for the entire Corona GPGS Plugin:

Login, Logout, Achievements, Scores, Leaderboards, Players and Real-Time Games.

Where can we acquire these samples.?

From this link: http://animonger.com/gpgstester/

Which has informational links on GPGS as well as the link to the code.

animon that is great! Any word when the full iOSKit will be available? Do you have an idea on how much you are going to charge?

@agramonte, glad to hear it.

As to the release date for the full iOS GameKit Game Center Plugin, it’s finished and submitted to Corona but I’m still waiting for code approval. I hope it’s soon, considering Real-Time Multiplayer support over Game Center on iOS is the number 2 most requested feature. Initially the Plugin will be free.

Looks like iOS Google play games serices and turn based multiplayer are number one still

We are aware of the popularity of these requests and the filed bugs. I know Engineering is looking at them now. I have no idea of the order or timing on any updates, but the good news is some of them have bubbled to the top of the priority list.

Rob

@Rob Miracle, Can you direct me to someone at Corona who can give me a status update on the full iOS GameKit Game Center Plugin I submitted on February 1st? Michael Wallar is not responding to the inquiry emails I sent on February 25th and April 6th.

The iOS Plugin code I submitted is a direct response to the 2nd most requested feature on the Corona SDK Feature Request List.

Thanks,

Warren

I’ll see what I can find out.

Thanks again, Rob!

Hi animonger,

I’m sorry for the delays and lack of response. I hope to have this through validation/testing/publishing tomorrow, unless I catch any errors. There’s a bit of a backlog on store activity with other work taking priority. You’re on the top of my list, though. I’ve also replied to your last email.

Regards,
Michael

@Michael W., Great! I’ll check my email.

Thanks,

Warren

Any updates? I really want this plugin

I found this (https://bitbucket.org/coronalabs/store-hosted-gamekit)

How do I get it?

If you find it on Bitbucket but it’s not in the store, that usually means it’s not ready for release yet. Perhaps we are still testing it out. Perhaps we are waiting on some updates from the developer before we make it publicly. Perhaps we are workout documentation. The only real conclusion you can make is that it’s being worked on.

As of now, once a plugin is in the store, customer created plugins don’t get put into the Enterprise plugin.tar.gz file. For Enterprise subscribers to use customer created plugins they need to access Bitbucket. To SDK subscribers, seeing on Bitbucket doesn’t help you.

Rob

Ok thanks rob for clarification

Weird, I’m not getting email notifications for this thread.

@scottrules44, Michael from Corona said in his last update to me that he is still in the process of testing the code and there is an error preventing builds from the simulator that he is trying to narrow down.

I’ll post in the Corona iOS forum as soon as the GameKit plugin gets released.

Warren

Ok sweet
