Google Play store warning: openFile

All my apps on the Google Play store now have this warning:

Security alert

Your app is using a content provider with an unsafe implementation of openFile. Please see this Google Help Center article for details.

Vulnerable classes:

  • com.ansca.corona.storage.FileContentProvider

Please fix the issue before: 01/15/2018

I did rebuild with the latest public release version (2017.3135) and I still get the warning.

Do I have to install one of the daily builds?

I rebuilt my apps with release version 2017.3135 and uploaded them two weeks ago.

The warnings are still there.

This warning appeared after public release 2017.3135 so it was fixed in daily builds.

You have to rebuild your apps with 2017.3145 or later to get rid off the warning.

Thanks Bektur,

I think I’ll wait a bit and see if Corona puts up a new public release

Latest Daily build from February 2018 and get

Your app(s) are using a content provider with an unsafe implementation of openFile

from Google!!

What to do?

Thanks

@OCG - Better to put actual version number.  By the time your post is seen, ‘latest’ could be different.

True, thanks RoamingGamer :) it is  2018.02.08

It may take time for the warning to go away.  This problem was solved months ago.

Regarding version numbers, it’s best to use the two 4 digit numbers like 2018.3220.

Hello Rob. This was a version we made today with a Corona version from today. Google responded today with a rejection. So pressume it not completely fixed ?!

Thanks

Can you be more clear what you mean by a rejection?

Can you drop back to an older daily build, say from a week ago and see if that passes?

Rob

@OCG Are you making Native or Simulator builds?

Simulator, everything runs fine in simulator and on device.

The previous version was approved by Google, there are no changes in the code between the rejected version and the approved one.Minor changes in the build.settings.

Hi,

it looks like it is partly solved, app is submitted, is approved but no sound and no icon ?!?!?

We regenerated the APK en OBB, resubmitted and it was approved, strange, strange,  any ideas on the missing icon and sound?

Thx
