Google Review Team asks me to update "Freeze!" for Google In App Billing IAB V2 -> IAB V3

Hi,

The Google Play Review Team (the guys who decide which apps get featured on Google Play) just sent me an email and asked me to update the IAB (In App Billing) for my game “Freeze!” from V2 -> V3:

As I’m a PRO subscriber and I’m using the Corona functionality for IAB (works great!) I cannot do this myself.

Are you planning to switch to IAB V3 anytime soon?

Thanks & best,

Andreas

P.S.:

Here’s the email they sent me:

Hi Andreas,

We released IAB V3 back in December of 2012 and we’d like to see you transition from IAB V2 to V3 in the next few months.  It’ll be a better user experience and it’s easy to implement.

Here’s the Top 5 reasons why you should make the transition:

  1. Synchronous reliable purchase flow, no loss of purchases or notifications.

  2. Vastly simpler integration with the API (<100 loc compared to 1200 with IABv2)

  3. Removes the unmanaged / managed distinction allowing apps to control the behavior of each SKU.

  4. Restoring user purchases is instantaneous and is not throttled.

  5. Provides a server-side API to check the status of a purchase.

Here’s some of the games that need updating:

com.frozengun.freeze

We understand that this will require some work on your end, but we’d like you to invest the time and make the change within Q4.  Please let us know if you have any concerns, and when you expect to update the above games. Here’s some background:
