Google will block OAuth through WebView on april 20th!

Hi all!

This might be geared mostly towards the engineers at CoronaLabs: do you have any solution for the upcoming deprecation (and blocking) of OAuth through a WebView?

As far as I’m aware using a WebView is the only way to use OAuth and interact with Google services in Corona. This is a bit troubling to me since I’ve been working on a calendar interface app (between Corona and Google Calendar) for a loooooong time now: if this goes through my work will be useless, unless there will be another way to do OAuth stuff with Corona.

Any input from the CoronaLabs or Perk team on this?

Really hoping some of the Corona engineers will step in here, since this will affect functionality in the near future.

Have you tried using web pop up instead of web views. I know on iOS you need to use this https://marketplace.coronalabs.com/plugin/safari-view

Hey Scott,

Very good idea! I seem to be a bit behind on Corona features and had not seen the Safari web-PopUp. Seems like it might very well do the trick! Thanks!
