Got the Application Has Encountered A Lua Error(See Logs) error today for the first time. Figured out why.

Just wanted to post something incase this happens to anyone else.
 

I have a Nexus 7 and just implemented the multiuser so I can use various test accounts.  I encountered this error today:

Application Has Encountered A Lua Error(See Logs)

This is the first time I had seen it and I had a major freak out.  Apparently though, the issue ended up being that I had installed the test applications as one user and tried to download the same application from the Google Play Store with the other.  It just ended up copying that test application over to the other user instead of downloading directly from the Play Store.  This caused the error to occur upon opening the app. 

To resolve this I went back to the other user and removed those apps, I then switched back to the new user and was able to download them from the Play Store with no errors this time.

We discovered this issue recently too.  It’ll only happen if you run your app via a 2nd user account on Android 4.3 and your app is targeting Google Play or is using a plugin built with C/C++.  Also, your app must be installed before the 2nd account is created.  Meaning that this crash will not occur if the app was installed (or re-installed) after the 2nd account was created.  Yeah, it was a very particular issue.

We’ve fixed this issue today.  The fix will be made available in daily build #1199.
