GP Developer Console - Advertising ID policy violation

Hey,

First things first, if this is the wrong section to ask for help, please move this topic/thread.

I have published an application to Google Play store, not long ago. I haven’t experienced any kinds of issues before, until a month ago. This “We have identified a potential advertising ID policy violation with your app(s).” error showed up. I researched the internet a bit, and figured it requires an update, and so I did. It worked for a week, then it showed up again, however this time, it kept showing up a few hours later. Due to this error showing up every 24 hours, I always update my application and re-publish. Is there a specific reason it keeps showing up?

To be more specific; “We have determined that your app uses a library or SDK (v2.com.playhaven.configuration) that is in violation of the Developer Program Policy. Please note that beginning Aug 1st, 2014 the Developer Program Policy requires all updates and new apps uploaded to be compliant with the advertising ID provision of the Developer Program Policy. Apps in violation may be subject to permanent removal from the Store. Learn more.”

That’s what it claims I violate.

How I update my application you may ask? I just re-build. When it first showed up (the error), the console printed that playhaven was updated, so I figured that was the issue. However, later on, it didn’t update playhaven anymore or anything at all, so I was just re-building all the time.

I’m currently using build 2014.2511.

I really need help, because I’m so frustrated, and I just can’t re-publish all the time.

I’m not sure if anyone had this issue before, but it just happened again. Before I made this thread, I re-updated and re-published my app. Now, this curse (error) showed up again. What should I do?

No one?

I’m not quite sure, but does this error have anything to do with privacy policy?

“Not submitting a privacy policy URL at this time. Learn more” is checked. Does it matter? Am I allowed to have advertisements in my app, even though I haven’t offered a privacy policy URL?

Thanks(?).

It would not hurt to have an advertising policy.  I’ll check with the team and see if Playhaven has updated their Android plugin.

Yeah, I know that. I was just wondering if that’s the reason it happens. Thank you, I’ll wait.

By the way, thanks for responding, Rob.

wolflandgames - Unfortunately the Playhaven plugin hasn’t been updated in quite a while and is unlikely to be updated soon. Their company has gone through a lot of changes and our initial contacts are no longer there.

But we are trying to figure out how we can again make them available, most likely via Fuse Powered’s AdRally. We will hopefully have more info on this soon.

Now we’re talking! Thank you so much, David. I was going crazy.

So, what should I do now? What do you suggest? Should I change it (until you guys sort it out)?

Once again, thank you, David and Rob.

I definitely would suggest using an alternative to Playhaven. Not sure when that one specifically will get sorted out yet…

All right! Thanks for the quick respond, Dave.

By the way, once you guys sort it out, would you announce it? If so, you can lock the topic.

Thanks!

Yes, definitely. Sorry about the trouble.
