GPS events in the simulator

Currently playing with https://docs.coronalabs.com/api/event/location/index.html for lat/lon data but the location I’m receiving isn’t quite as accurate as I was hoping… It’s reporting a lat/lon of 37.448485,-122.158911 which reverses to “500 University Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94301, University South, Palo Alto, Downtown North Palo Alto California United States”.

That’s literally a 13 hour flight away! https://www.google.com/maps/dir/QWeb+Ltd+Web+%26+Game+Development+Agency,+Mabgate+Business+Centre,+93-99+Mabgate,+Leeds+LS9+7DR/University+South,+Palo+Alto,+CA+94301,+USA/@39.8062895,-97.2157203,3z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x48795e94288bb08f:0xce6ffed7a43736b2!2m2!1d-1.530272!2d53.802401!1m5!1m1!1s0x808fbb3d09b16757:0x1e3887ef12d135a4!2m2!1d-122.1561551!2d37.4450286!3e4

Is it just that the simulator reports this lat/lon as standard, or is something actually messed up?

The simulator provides fake data for the GPS. You have to test GPS events on a real device.

Ah, thanks Rob. I thought that’d be the case but haven’t had chance to test this particular app on devices yet.
