Graphic Design

What do all of you do for graphic design? I am in no way good at making graphics for my apps, so I need to hire someone else to help with it. I had a friend who knows photoshop do some of the graphics for my last app, but I need a new designer who I can hire to finish the art faster than my friend did (graphic design is only a hobby for her). Does anyone recommend any of the freelance sites? I would prefer to keep costs Thanks! [import]uid: 38000 topic_id: 24354 reply_id: 324354[/import]

Thanks for the suggestions! Are you able to find all the art for your apps there? I would think that they may not have the specific artwork you want. (Or since all your art is from different artists, so your game looks a little mismatched). [import]uid: 38000 topic_id: 24354 reply_id: 98404[/import]

mostly I have modified the heck out of them myself. I am looking for a good artist as well. I did contact someone awhile back but I lost his info, and would like to kick myself. I also have not had the resources to hire someone just yep but I have plans to do so in the near future for a couple apps and kids books im planing.

Also Jonathan Beebe’s wife does some pretty good artwork as well.

I do graphics. Let me know what you want and I can give you a quote. If you don’t like it, you don’t pay. (but you can’t use the graphic without paying ^_^)Lucien Consulting [import]uid: 136878 topic_id: 24354 reply_id: 98407[/import]

If you want to keep costs low

99 designs is a great site, but it takes time. You have to basically hold a 2 week contest, pick finalists and then choose a winner from the finalists. Not to mention, you wont get near as many designs submitted unless you guarantee you will pick a winner which means you may end up paying for a design you don’t like because it was the best one but not your fav style. You could then hire the designer and have him tweak it or redesign it for another fee on your own.

You can get the same results from good designers faster and have a personal relationship with them. [import]uid: 136878 topic_id: 24354 reply_id: 98419[/import]

@Blue Spruce Games,

I’d like to offer my design services for your app artwork, if you’re interested in discussing it. I understand there are many sources and many talented designers that can help you with this, all at varying prices and timeframes.

My own background is photography and graphic design (degree and real-world experience), several years of website design, and in the past 2 years, graphics for my own in-development Corona apps. I’m looking to enhance my portfolio in this specific area, so I’m willing to work on an “indie friendly” basis in regards to pricing.

If you’d like to discuss further, please contact me at:

Best of luck in your endeavors,
Brent Sorrentino

Had never seen mightydeals.com before and from the name never would have guessed it was graphics - just had a look at some of the stuff up and have to say it looks great.

@Larry - Jon Beebe’s wife has a name y’know :stuck_out_tongue: It’s Biffy. Biffy Beebe, and yes, she does beautiful artwork :slight_smile: [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 24354 reply_id: 98439[/import]

@Ignis Design,
Thanks for your offer! I would love to talk to you about artwork! I will send you an email in a week or two once I have a fuller idea of what I need. ( My apps tend to change a lot during development, so I try to save graphics for last) [import]uid: 38000 topic_id: 24354 reply_id: 98495[/import]

You can try forums.indiegamer.com and go into the art portfolios forum. Lots of indie-friendly artists there. In my limited experience, $500 doesn’t go far for art. You also won’t get an established artist for that price. [import]uid: 31262 topic_id: 24354 reply_id: 98526[/import]
