Gree

I was going to do a game integrating OpenFeint… Ouch! Now OpenFeint is Gree and OpenFeint don’t accept new users.

I’ve read the Gree VS OpenFeint post but I’m not an old user of OpenFeint and I don’t have idea how can I integrate it now.

Please help! [import]uid: 69993 topic_id: 28289 reply_id: 328289[/import]

Currently *no one* can implement OF into a new app. I’d suggest looking at an alternative like GameMinion. (You could use this on iOS and Android or on Android with Game Center on iOS.)

I know it’s a pain, I really liked OpenFeint myself :frowning: [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 28289 reply_id: 114289[/import]

openfeint will only be supported until Q3 2013…(then Gree only) [import]uid: 90610 topic_id: 28289 reply_id: 114305[/import]

Thank so much peach!

“Turn Based & Real-Time multiplayer…” sounds great. [import]uid: 69993 topic_id: 28289 reply_id: 114314[/import]

Ouch! It is a pay service… :frowning:

Mmmm, Maybe I’ll use my web server. [import]uid: 69993 topic_id: 28289 reply_id: 114318[/import]

One other possible alternative *I think* is autoLAN, I forget the pay system there but I believe it is only a reasonable one time fee - that may be a suitable alternative, though I can’t recall exactly what services they offer it is perhaps worth a look. The only thing I need is a master server to upload scores. Probably I will implement a system for search matches for future games I’ll make. If I finally do it I will share the LUA code for play by UDP and search matches with a simple example. The big trouble, maybe, will be the ports. I can connect from mobile to pc, pc to mobile, pc to pc but not mobile to mobile. [import]uid: 69993 topic_id: 28289 reply_id: 114493[/import]

@hartontw; totally understand your concern on the cost, and this is something that we heard from other developers too. And for this reason we have a plan with no cost for a set amount of resources.
I think the resources we are giving away is enough for you until your game starts to get traction.

I would encourage you to sign up for the Beta, give it a run, nothing to lose. There are no costs involved, and if you are using Corona and our library (we will be updating this and moving it to using events, more to come later) you will be up and running in no time.

Don’t misunderstand me. Your costs are very cheap but actually we haven’t got incomes and our game has been a disaster on sales and reviews.

I will consider it when I will can pay it meanwhile I have to do a lot of things by myself.

I’m already signed and I really want to try it. Looks very well and I think is a good idea. I wish you the best. [import]uid: 69993 topic_id: 28289 reply_id: 114528[/import]

Cool I am glad you signed up, I’ll ping the team and see the status of the Beta access.
We’ve been really overwhelmed with registrations, and we are trying to make sure we roll out access in a controlled way.
In the mean, drop me a direct email mohamed (at) gameminion.com to see your specific needs; and as you are a Corona Pro subscriber, I think we can sort something out. At the end of the day, we learn more to improve our system as the variety of developers use our solution, so its not all about the financials for us!
