[GUIDE] How do I get my machine de-authorized?

To get a machine de-authorized which is either inaccessible to you or you no longer use it, please don’t post on the forums. The people who can actually de-authorize you are very busy and don’t have time to browse the forums.

If you want to get your machine de-authorized fast, simply fill out the form at the below link with as much detail as possible:

Open simulator

click on file -> preferences

Click on de-authorize and quit button

Hi @sai4,

Thanks for posting, but what Danny is speaking about is de-authorization of a computer that you don’t actually own anymore. This may occur if the computer is corrupted/reformatted, stolen, etc. and you no longer have access to the Corona Simulator to do the process that you describe. In this case, we must internally de-authorize the computer.

Generally speaking though, Danny is correct. Posting de-authorization requests in the forums might be seen by myself or Rob, but not always, and not always quickly. If you need a de-auth, it’s better to fill out the form as instructed.

Why not make the process a whole lot faster and smoother and offer this de-authorizing from the web? You can log into your account and do it from there? That would save a lot of frustration, and would ease the pressure on you support-guys

Hi,

I have requested deauthorization thru the link you gave me. How long usually is the turn-around time?

The 2 PCs I worked before was from my previous employer, and I’m no longer affiliated with them.

Could you deauthorize my 2 previous PCs pretty please?

Cheers,

Brian

During the week, these are generally turned around in 24 hours.

Email support@cornalabs.com and ask to have this done. Include the email address you registered with.

Today I read a few posts since I _was_ considering using Corona.  First I read that the staff is too busy to work on HTML, which is important to me, and then I install Corona SDK and try to use it, only to discover that I have apparently registered it on two other computers (which I no longer have) and I am not able to use it now.

Now I read that the staff is probably too busy to read the forums.

Dear, CornaLabs, if you ever read this,

Today I discovered that I might like to use your software, but alas, I seem to be too busy with other things to spend time finding ways around starting to use it.

Who knows, I might have more time in year or so to find out if I will be allowed to use your free license on a computer that I actually own.  I just might try again later, when I get around to it.

Good Luck.

Hi MudbuG.

Your account doesn’t show any current authorizations on the email address you are using for the the forums.  Is your Corona SDK authorized on a different email address?

As far as too busy to not read the forums, I’m not sure where that comes from.  At Corona Labs we have people who do specific jobs.  Our engineers who work to build the software we use are very busy and they read and respond on the forums if and when they have time.  However we have our Developer Relations team who’s job is to be a liaison between you and Corona Labs.  Specifically Brent and I make sure the forums get read every day of the week.   Now that said, this is a Community forum, and there is an expectation that other community members will be responsible for answering many of the questions asked here.  Brent and I are here to deal with product specific questions and to interface with engineering when something requires their attention.

You should not feel that forum posts are not going to be read.

As for the HTML its development is on hold while we complete higher priority items that our customers are requesting.   We will hopefully get back to it, but it’s not going to be next week or next month.

Wow, I must give you credit for an very quick reply to my post.  I am impressed.

I will submit a request to the link at the beginning of this post and see what happens.

I am using the same email address to log into the forum that I am using to log in the the Corona Simulator application.  I will try using the support link listed at the start of this post.

A quick note on support:

It would be great if there was a more obvious support link on your main page.  I spent some time looking for it.  Maybe it is there, but if it is, it isn’t easy to find.  I did find a “Premium Support” link, but that didn’t quite fit task at hand.

I am puzzled why a free license is limited to two registrations.  Are there any plans to change that?  I own more than two computer and do not always use the same one for development.

==Update==

Whatever you did when you were checking worked.  I can use the product now.  The act of checking my account unlocked something I supposed.

I’m trying to start developing again but it’s telling me I need to
deauthorize a computer. Problem is, one of my two authorized computers is
the one I’m on, but I did a clean install a while back so I can’t deauthorize
it I believe. What should I do?

If the staff read this can you de-autorize any device on my account

Done!
