Gumbo - A Corona Level Design Tool

It’s been a while, but a new version of Gumbo has just been uploaded. It gives you a snapping function and the ability to set the image path.

Read more about the changes here:

Or try it out here:

For you Gumbo users:

New version.

* Added quick buttons for rotating objects 90 degrees left or right. You find the buttons at the top of the properties pane.
* If you’re cloning (‘C’ on the keyboard) an object while dragging it, the clone no longer gets focused.
* Cloned objects will now snap into place if you’ve set a value under Settings. [import]uid: 13180 topic_id: 5505 reply_id: 52714[/import]

I don’t see any activity discussing Gumbo here.

Is it worth checking out? Is it being maintained? Some of the features look interesting (and would eliminate some manual stuff I’ve had to do myself with Corona).

I went to the site, but it required Silverlight installed for me to get into the site. WTF?

(That kind of scares me away a bit, a Corona-oriented product whose web page requires silverlight to view?) [import]uid: 40450 topic_id: 5505 reply_id: 97760[/import]

Gumbo is for sure worth checking out. It has saved me hours of time. You are “required” to install silverlight because the application (gumbo) is built in silverlight. You aren’t visiting a web page, you are opening the actual application. Silverlight is cool for that reason, you can run the application in your web browser. Not sure if the creator of gumbo is still active on gumbo, he is busy but he has done a lot to help cater to our wants and needs. I still use it while creating and designing my apps. Thanks.

Gumbo being written *in* Silverlight is a great answer for why the site requires it :slight_smile: Sorry I didn’t pick up on that.

I will definitely check it out, it sounds very handy.

Yes, Silverlight might be scary to some people (especially if your using a Mac!), but it was something that I was familiar with, plus it’s an easy way to make a cross-platform application.

It’s true that I’m not activily working on Gumbo right now, but I try to make some smaller updates every now and then. There are just so many many different things I want/need to do, and only so much time. :confused:

The main reason why this thread is dead is because there are some other threads you can use instead. Sure, those might be quite dead too, but still slightly more alive! :stuck_out_tongue:

I LOVE this tool. There’s just one problem!! There is no resolution setting that works for the iPhone 5 screen. Do you think you can easily implement this cause that would be great!? [import]uid: 126876 topic_id: 5505 reply_id: 144833[/import]
