I hope everyone is in the Halloween spirit because we have an awesome new app “Halloween Kids Puzzles: The Best Pirate, Vampire and Mummy Games for Toddlers, Boys and Girls” out now on iOS & Android!!
This is the third collaboration between myself and Corona dev Scott Adelman- you might remember the previous two, Mermaid Princess Puzzles (Corona’s November 2012 App of the Month) and Fairy Ballerina Puzzles. Scott had the cool idea of doing a holiday app- even though it was a tight deadline, I LOVE Halloween and couldn’t pass up the chance. It’s also got some really cool third-party plugins including Particle Candy and Spine. We’ve used Particle Candy before but this was our first time using Spine- it is SO COOL! We were able to get really lively and dynamic animations going much more quickly than usual. Kudos to Esoteric Software for this cool product, highly recommended.
OK the app specs! It has 12 cool Halloween-themed jigsaw puzzles with Count Dracula, Frankenstein, a pirate, mummy, robot and many more! When the puzzles are finished, there’s tons of applause and puzzles all come to life with animations and little pumpkin confetti floats down that you can pop into candy. It’s pretty fun if I say so myself, I had to pop pretty much every pumpkin during testing.
The puzzles have an adjustable number of pieces and guides that you can turn on and off so kids can control the difficulty themselves. There’s nothing spooky or scary in the app, so all different ages of kids can enjoy.
We always strive to be parent-friendly and make child-safe apps- there are no third-party ads, data collection tools or links to social networks. Links to our other apps are available in a separate Parents page with a parental gate.
It’s also localized into as many languages as you can read, including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Swedish, Dutch, Finnish, Danish and Norwegian.

We have a free version (four puzzles, 1.99 to unlock the other eight) and a paid version (all twelve puzzles unlocked) available on iOS, Google, Amazon, Nook*, Nabi*, and Samsung.
