hello from DeMentid Apps new here

Just want to say hello to Corona users. Coming from Game Salad which you probably know is a GUI based tool and going from that to a code based tool looks to be a little more work, but I thought i’d try my hand here since GameSalad is screwing their users. Hey guys :slight_smile:

Chaser - you helped me out with the first question I ever posted on GS back in the day :slight_smile:

With opening a project, can you be a tad more specific? Have you opened one of the simulators?

Try;

Open Corona Simulator from the Corona Game Edition folder in applications

File - Open

Applications > Corona Game Edition > Sample Code > Any file in here

You just select the file, not anything in it.

I hope that helps ^-^; [import]uid: 10144 topic_id: 2834 reply_id: 8556[/import]

Just a liitle correction. When you open something in the simulator, you don’t open a file, but select a folder. Inside that folder has to be a main.lua file, which the simulator then loads automatically. [import]uid: 5712 topic_id: 2834 reply_id: 8560[/import]

Sorry, indeed - the folder. /facepalm

Thanks Mike. :slight_smile: [import]uid: 10144 topic_id: 2834 reply_id: 8578[/import]

Another tip. Open Corona Terminal instead of Corona Simulator. This opens both the Corona Simulator and the terminal so you can see any error messages and your own debug messages (using “print” statements).

Let us know if you are still having problems.
