Hello !. Talking about our new game!

    Hello everyone, my name is Steven A. and I have been programming for about a year. I have been working on the development of 2D fast pace shooter with a few friends of mine. Our company is C3 Entertainment. We have just recently gone into production of our first game for IOS and android.

    The game is based on the idea of the old school 2D side shooters but when we where first in the process of figuring out what we wanted to create we where limited in what we could program. I started with a PSP(Play Station portable)  and an old laptop. Trying to figure out how to make a decent game that people would like to play. Well after a few weeks we decided our programming language to be LUA and we had a few notes on what we wanted the game to be. So we dove into game development on out dated equipment. Our fist try was what i would call a “flop” at best. We had bad animations and the code was not much to look at.

    We decided if we where going to do something then we should spend a little more time on it. so we went back to the drawing board. Well at this point we started to get more and more ideas on what we wanted and we where doing allot of game research. (playing games). We where most inspired by black ops II, halo Reach, zelda, and anything to do with action and adventure. We started drawing up character sketches and it came down to 3 drawings. One was a character that looked ok but nothing that we could work with. the second was a partial map concept with a character that was futuristic and the map was futuristic as well. Almost right away we where all getting ideas but they never led anywhere because we had no idea what would be a good story to go with it. It was a good concept but not the feel we where looking for.

    The last drawing was a sketch i was thinking about one morning. It was this little military 8-bit pixle stye character with an AK in his hand with a muzzle flash going off and shells flying. Everyone was like this is a good idea, and Im like are you sure, i drew this while I was waiting on a phone call. So we came up with some map ideas some good some bad but retentively all the same. So i asked the question can we do anything special. So we looked up lua for IOS and PC. Really it was down to Corona or LOVE but i fell in love with the potential that corona had and decided if we wanted to push the boundaries of what we can create we would have to do this in corona.we wanted something to get our names out there after we published the game. 

    So after a few weeks of planning and designing levels and scenery we had a good head start. We have just recently started on the engine. We had to make all of the art work for this thing. Took about a week to get most of the art completed for 2 maps and basic animations. we will be using some really smart AI for our bots and the game will be competitive Ill have videos here when we get further in development.

We have plans for online but since we do not have a private server as we are building this on a budget we can not at this time provide it. If this game gets enough attention we will go on and just do it.

What about Bots??: Alpha

Well our bots for game modes will be tough so don’t be like “aww” i don’t like bots. The bots feature a flight or fight response system so if you attack them they will either attack or run away to there group or spawn. Bots will also have the ability to use perks/ kill streaks. So the bots will be able to just own if your not playing good witch will effect your K/D ratio. Friendly AI is the same way.
