Help get Retro Football Boss onto Steam!

Would really appreciate it if everyone could vote for my game to get the Greenlight on Steam.

It’s a unique concept in terms of soccer management games, allowing you to go back in time as far as 1888, rather like the game Out of the Park Baseball.

It’s been in development for 18 months (compiling and cleaning the data alone took 6 months) and I think really shows what Corona is capable of and how easy it is to learn, bearing in mind I started learning from scratch four years ago.

I’d like to think I’ve helped quite a few folks out on these forums over those years so it would be great if everyone could spare a minute to vote, even if the game isn’t your thing

You got my vote nick_sherman. I really like the 90’s feel to it. Hope you got greenlit. Have you announced the game on somewhere else? Your greenlight page seems desolate.

One more thing: you should really consider changing team / player names. As far as I know, they all should be licensed to be directly used in a game. Konami is still avoiding license payments by mod support and the edit mode.

This looks awesome!

Reminds me of the championship manager games from the 90s (the good old days).

You’ll have my vote

Thanks! Yeah, I haven’t really got the time (or expertise) to push the page, focussing on getting it into a playable state. Meeting a few more publishers on Thursday so hopefully I won’t need greenlight :-/

As for licensing, fifPro wasn’t founded until 1965, so any players before then won’t require a license. All players after that are retired are so are unlikely to still be members of fifPro. The fallback position for these is to only use first initial + surname, which has been successfully used by a number of management games.

As for club names, as long as you steer clear of trademarks, then it shouldn’t be a problem. So use Manchester Utd instead of Manchester United.

@Danny. Thanks, that’s what I’m going for. Quick and easy to play but with a historical twist
