Help with suspended/interrupted apps.

I’ve got the event handler in place and it seems to be firing in the simulator when I do a CMD-Down to suspend the app.

Currently I’m just pausing the game and I know I need to try and save the state of the game so I can restore later, but…

On an iPhone 4, running iOS 4.3.x when I interrupt the game by hitting the Home button when I try to go back to the game, I get my “Default.png” screen like it was loading the game new. When I do the same thing with games from other makers, I’m taken directly to a “Pause” screen and its like the game isn’t loading from scratch.

What am I missing? I know I can get the game saving enough state information to at least return to the beginning of a level, but there is something that these other apps are doing to jump straight to their Pause screen.

Ideas?

What you’re talking about is the fast-app switching part of iOS 4 multitasking.

The latest version of Corona released a few days ago has multitasking in it. All you need to do is add the plist setting to enable it and you’re off to the races:
