Hello all,
I have been using Corona for almost a year and never posted anything or asked any questions. I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing? After almost a year I am almost done with my first Point-and-Click Adventure Game (U-boat Bunker St. Amiot). Let me just say I UNDER ESTIMATED THE AMOUT OF WORK TO CREATE SUCH A GAME. When I was first inspired to create my own game, I said to myself “THAT LOOKS EASY”. Looking back I was wrong! Well I kept at it wanting to quit many times. Part of my issue was I switched mid-stream from Director to Storyboard. It took a while for me to understand Storyboard, the interactions between scenes, global vs local, etc. It is actually easy now. My second game should be much easier too.
I have always wanted to use my skills for something. I have always considered it a curse being both right and left brain proficient. People say… “Jack of all trades, master of none”. I have always seen that as a negative because I think I am not bad at programming AND graphics. Anyway for someone like me, making an indie game with Corona SDK is perfect. I can use my entire skill set.
For those still struggling… hang in there! The light will go on when you least expect it. It did for me after googling the net for answers and trying and failing many times like Edison.
