Hi folks! Just about to start crafting with Corona...

Hey all, just wanted to say hi as i’d like to get more involved with the Corona community.

I’m Carl, half of a small part-time indie studio called Calega Games. I’m the ‘artist half’.

We’ve only got one game under our belt (not build with Corona) but after looking for something faster, we’re just starting on our second game here with you guys.

Our first effort was a football manager game in a kind if arcade/cartoon style. I did all of the design/graphics, Lee (the coder half) did the coding and together we kind of made it all up in the pub in a haze of laughter :

Lots of noobie mistakes were made, but a lot of valuable lessons were learned.

Hopefully, we’re going to take everything we learned and apply it to Corona, make some new games and get to know a few new friends…

  • Carl.

Normally “the coder half” would be here… but anyway welcome

Hi Carl,

Welcome to Corona! As I do for all new users, I suggest you begin with our “Getting Started” guide which covers a wide array of Corona essentials:

Thanks guys. We’ve actually been getting to know Corona for a good few months now.

The ‘coder’ half is here (learning Lua as a VB veteran), he’s just not as loud as me.

I came from VB.net as my daytime into lua as my nighttime. I must be a vampire as nighttime won hands down

Hi,

Your artwork is very well done. That gives you a great advantage. The more an artist understands how the graphics side of Corona works (or any engine for that matter) the quicker a product can be produced, especially for a smaller team.

I look forward to seeing your progress with Corona. Good luck!

Welcome Carl,

I agree, the level of your artwork will be a huge advantage.  Be sure to share your works in progress on the forums here
