Hi I'm Danial!

My name is Danial and I’ve been participating on this forum for a few months now, but haven’t formally introduced myself, till today.  I took up app development as a hobby recently, but the only free time I really have is when my two small kids go to sleep

Since I was very little I have always played around with technology and tried to get the most out of my gadgets. As a kid I used to write games on my 286 PC with the BASIC language in the early 90s.  In university I designed games on my HP-48 geek calculator, and years later I wrote a couple card games for the Sony PSP (using LUA and custom firmware).  I then became an Android nerd and hacked around with custom ROMs on my phones and eventually created the first ever ‘Android Kitchen’.  I stopped doing these things (got an iPhone now, ha!) as I realized the time was not worth it anymore, but with the growth of the app industry I realized there is so much potential to make the time invested in development very rewarding - educationally, artistically and financially.

One gripe I have about app development is that graphic design is very very important to getting results.   I wish there was some more emphasis in this forums from the pros on how to use third party tools to create beautiful designs, sprites, etc.  I know there are other sites that mention these things, but it would be cool if we could share the knowledge here as well, since we all have this common interest of Corona SDK.

Here are the iPhone/Android apps I have released with Corona SDK so far:  http://danial.ca .  They all took a month or less to complete, as I like to work in spurts and not let the development time take over my own family life

Thanks for your time!
