How does the license work?

I’m assuming it’s a license to build for a platform, but once deployed, the license can lapse. Is this correct?

I’m asking because a potential client wants me to develop an app for them and I want to use Corona, but an annual $350 for the lifetime of the app would be a deal killer.

Thanks… [import]uid: 58455 topic_id: 22066 reply_id: 322066[/import]

The $350 is every year, you get all the subscriber functions. When you build an app and you put it onto the app store or android market, you don’t have to keep on paying $350 every year to have the app on the market or ios store. The $350 is just so you can pretty much have the rights to build that game during the year that the license lasts. Instead of charging you a percentage like game maker and other sdk’s make you do, they just charge you one flat rate every year. Hope this helps and again, just to make sure its clear, you dont have to pay every year for an app to be onn the market, pay once a year and build as many apps as you want. Thanks for the quick reply. That’s what I assumed. I plan on continuing to renew the license in my name, but the app will be owned by the client in iTunes and Android market. [import]uid: 58455 topic_id: 22066 reply_id: 87678[/import]

Thought it might be good to have an official post here saying; “Yes, brandon’s post is correct.”

Just for peace of mind  [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 22066 reply_id: 87800[/import]
