How exactly to setup and use Coronium. Beginner

Hi! I’m new relatively new to mobile development, especially with corona. I recently started reading up on how to create back ends and was advised to use Coronium, however I can’t seem to find anything tangible to help with the setup. The different forums I’ve gone to all have different and slightly contradicting things, the site coronium.iodoesn’t show anything but a policy statement, I found another site that told me I’d need to set it up using ssh on my computer http://coronium-ls.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ but I got stuck on the part that asked me to login with “ssh cloud@192.168.71.73”, I get a connection timeout whenever I try. I found some that said I need an Amazon account but I have no clue how exactly they relate. I did more research and I think it has something to do with hosting but I haven’t found much resource on that. Please, I’d appreciate some help with this, or if possible, an alternative cloud back-end service easier to set up, I have some experience with MS Azure but I’d prefer something more built for Corona.

I’m using a Windows 10 64 bit Home

I’ve got an Amazon AWS account and a Digital Ocean account

I’ve got OpenSSH installed

And I have the Coronium LS files

I just have zero clue what to do with any of these…

There is a confusing proliferation of Coronium branded projects, and none of them are currently supported by the developer (who is awesome, BTW.) But as I understand it, there is another iteration of the framework brewing. If it is anything like the previous versions it will be well worth waiting for.

I suppose waiting for a more stable iteration is my best option, In the meantime I’ll trying finding something easier to wrap my head around, though I really would have preferred to try Coronium out. Thanks for the response!

I have firebase plugins,

Hi @sharongirl21,

Thank you for your interest in Coronium. I’ll spare you the history of the project, but as noted, there is currently no supported version of Coronium available. Due to external circumstances, Coronium LS never made it to the finish line.

That being said, Coronium Core, the new stable and long term support version should be released sometime in the first week of September.

While Coronium Core is powerful and simple to use for data and file needs, it’s particularly focused towards developers who would like to keep ownership of their data, and don’t mind hosting their own server. It tends to pair well with business style applications.

If you’re new to Corona in general, you may want to look into some of the other data plugins, like @Scott Harrison mentioned above. But of course, if you’d like to try Coronium Core, that would be wonderful as well.

Have a great day,
