How Is Going Corona Today

Hi, I’m not a Corona developer, so I want to know from community: Corona is a good engine to develop? Is the best? what is the problems?

Thank you and sorry my english.

I like using Corona.  It’s been a great development platform to me.

Naomi

It’s been one year since I’ve started using Corona and I have no regrets and it has improved so much in regards to what is available to us developers, and looking at their short term roadmap it is going to get better.

It’s the best platform for me to use as its quick, powerful and lets me get apps out a lot quicker to multiple platforms that I would struggle with if I had to break it down into native objective-c/java.

Should I buy some license or the free version are sufficient?

There’s no harm in starting with free version and upgrade when you are ready for additional feature, daily build access, etc.  Free if free.  Why not try it first?

The price is going up from $349 to $599 at the end of this month for the pro package, and you also get to keep the same price for your next 2 renewals if you buy before the 1st of may. So it is a great time to buy.

However, it all depends on your needs. Take a look at the comparisons  test it out as much as you can before the end of the month before committing. You may find you can work well with the free version or Corona doesn’t suit your needs at all.

Do you have a project in mind you are looking at developing?

Ah, good point, @CraftyDeano.

@caioetbdf, are you a student?  (If so, you may want to look into educational discount that Corona may offer.)

Or, do you develop mobile products using other platform already and is only looking for different solution?

Or developing/programming is entirely new to you?

Is this a hobby that you are interested in pursuing?

Or making mobile application something you do for living?

You might want to check out this thread that discusses in extensive details about the latest pricing changes and what it means to those who already have Pro license (i.e., price lock for the next two years) as opposed to those who don’t (i.e., price will go up soon.)  You can hear all sides from various developers, and perhaps it will give you some food for thoughts in deciding what to do:
