How to create a fake provisioning profile for using with CoronaSDK?

I’m using Corona to create a game but to build the app for iOS I need to specify in Corona which provisioning profile to use (which I have to copy to their certain folder).

How do I create a fake ad hoc provisioning profile?

My device is jailbroken but I need provisioning profile on my device, even though it’s JB, in order for corona to build on device.

An alternative would be to create for xcode device simulator and run it on device but when I make ipa from app generated by this method, I get “failed to install” when I try to sync it to my device.

I am running Mac OSX 10.7 with xCode 4.5.2

Why not create a real one? [import]uid: 199310 topic_id: 34236 reply_id: 136147[/import]

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Because I’m coming from another engine and recently have had a bad experience and wanted to make sure Corona doesn’t have that touch problem on an actual device before I buy it.

It’s not easy for me to pay Apple and Corona so I wanted to test everything on a device first and if they are smooth then buy them together.

That’s why I want to test my tests on an actual device.

So is there any way for me?

My device is JB so it should run everything I throw in there without proper signing, thing is, Corona doesn’t generate it for me.

If there is a way to turn the .app file Corona makes for Xcode simulator into an .IPA, that would be great. I tried to put it in a Payload folder, compress and rename it to .IPA but I got a “installation failed” when iTunes tried to copy it into my device. Similar thing goes when I tried to copy that .IPA file with iFunBox.

Any help is much appreciated. [import]uid: 206949 topic_id: 34236 reply_id: 136187[/import]

Err…do you need a Corona license to test on device? Certainly you need a provisioning profile from Apple but not sure about the latter…(I thought you just needed the Corona license to make a distribution build…?) [import]uid: 41884 topic_id: 34236 reply_id: 136212[/import]

I think OP is right on this, you do need it, I haven’t tested on any iOS device but when I try to build it asks for installed provisioning profile, IIRC.
