I needed to transfer an app from one dev account to another (both mine…long story) Anyway the app has been transfered to my new dev account and i can see it. I need to update the app (new version) it and I am not sure how since the app bundle ID was under my other dev account. I did set up a certificate on my new account and some profiles (distribution profiles for the app store) When it ask for the app app ID I noticed the first part of the app ID is different from the one from my old dev account. Which of course make sense since I am the “new” owner of the app. I see something like this:
It was like AAAAAAAAA.com.companyName1.appName
on my old dev account but now when I select the app ID it shows something like this:
BBBBBBBBB.com.companyName2.appName
I downloaded the profile ok. I will assume it is ok to upload a new version of the app even AAAA is different from BBB? Of course the app is still under the old app bundle ID so past customers can update the app even so it is own by someone “different” (same really since I own both dev account, one will be left to die in November!)
Anyway, before I send an app update the first time after a transfer (and since I never transfer an before) I would love any pointers.
