How to eliminate unnecessary plugins?

Hi,

I run Glider on my Mac Air and feel the need to optimize how it is configured by default… Each time I start it I am told the following:

Marmalade plugin loaded successfully

Moai plugin loaded successfully

System Lua Interpreter plugin loaded successfully

Corona plugin loaded successfully

Love 2d plugin loaded successfully

Gideros plugin loaded successfully

I can’t help but feel the non-Corona plugins (ie Moai, Marmalade, Gideros) etc must be somehow affecting performance on my puny Mac Air… Does anyone know how to get rid of these?

Thanks,

Kerem

Hello Kerem,

These plugins should not be causing the slow-downs. We released a new version of Glider that should address these performance issues.

But they are still a waste in my use case. Is there any way not to load them?

Hello Kerem,

Sure. Please go to help-user directory-system plugins and delete the folders you do not need. If ever you need them again all you need to do is delete the entire system plugins folder and the system will copy over the files again.

Thanks. I deleted the non Corona & Lua ones including the Gideros but at launctime Glider still says :

Gideros plugin loaded successfully

How come?

Hello Kerem,

do you still have performance issues after installing the update?

I can assure you the plugins do not execute any code except on startup and the overhead is very low. You can try to disable the plugin itself like this:

All seems better on this end. I am still not sure if the debugging and variable watching is back to full function but thats topic for another thread. Will check soon. Thanks for your hard work.

@Kerem,

Sounds good. Let us know if you run into any other problem.

Just tried to disable the plugins using the method indicated in the screenshot, and I got a notice regarding dependencies.
