How to publish Android apps?

Okay, this may sound stupid, but I’ve searched but haven’t been able to find a comprehensive manual for generating keys and building for Android.
For iOS there’s a great step-by-step manual, but I can’t seem to find something similar for Android.

Can anyone help me find it?

I want to know how to generate the correct key store so I can build a release version of my app.
I have defined my app at the Google Dev website. All set there.
There is a Licensing key (what do I do with that?).

Thanks for pointing me to some help.

Oh, I’m running on Macs, not sure if that makes a difference (I do have access to Win tho).

Cheers,

Marco

Have you read this document?

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I have looked at that document, it doesn’t really explain how to create a keystore and such.
I was hoping for a easy-to-follow guide like the iOS publishing guide.

Anyway. I did figure it out myself doing some trial-and-error searching and trying.

Thanks again,

Marco

Thanks rmbsoft!
That’s exactly what I found out by trial-and-error :-D.
I like the addition of the Admob suggestion and link. Will surely look into that.

Nice post, should indeed be added to the Corona Android How-To page.

Cheers!

The link to the relevant Google Android keystore document is linked just below the screen shot in the “Signing Your App” block. The information is available there but perhaps its too obscure.

But @rmbsoft’s link I think summarizes the process much better than the Google one and perhaps we should consider updating our guide to include that information.
