How to Signing a new Android Application

Hi to all!! Sorry to bother you, perhaps this question is too basic, but I really cannot find a way to do it.

How could I sign my app to the play store in Android?

When I try to attach the the *.APK, it says:

"Upload error.

You have uploaded an APK that was signed in development mode.
You have uploaded a signed APK with a certificate that expires too soon".

How could I solve this?
