IDE support for Corona

Hi there,

Can anyone recommend a good IDE for Corona/Lua? I’ve started learning about Corona and I use Sublime Text 2 as my main editor at the moment. However, I would like a tool where I can run up the terminal and the main.lua file in one screen rather than using two applications. I’ve had a brief look and I understand you can use Xcode or Corona Commander? [import]uid: 167310 topic_id: 29658 reply_id: 329658[/import]

I’ve used Corona Complete before and was happy with it http://coronacomplete.com/. It’s made by the same guy who makes Sprite Helper and Level Helper, which are also really nice! [import]uid: 147305 topic_id: 29658 reply_id: 119033[/import]

Corona Project Manager is a very good choice, though there are a few options listed under third party tools. (Cider, CoronaComplete, etc) [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 29658 reply_id: 119037[/import]

OK thanks for the information I’ll take a look at the suggestions. [import]uid: 167310 topic_id: 29658 reply_id: 119039[/import]

Also consider CIDER. It’s an integrated debugger/IDE

I prefer Cider, mainly due to its debugger, and GIT functionality.

I believe both Cider and Corona Project Manager have a free trial, so give them both a go and see what you prefer  [import]uid: 62706 topic_id: 29658 reply_id: 119109[/import]

Yes I’ve had a looked at Cider (which I like uses the Netbeans framework) and Corona Project Manager (which crashed when I tried to load up one of my lua files). So at the moment I’ll use Cider. [import]uid: 167310 topic_id: 29658 reply_id: 119111[/import]

I am sure a lot of work has gone into the various IDE’s. However, I went with CIDER and it is great! It does have a few issues here and there (misses chars when typing sometimes), but the debugger has been a life saver. Plus, a new version is around the corner I believe.
