I just submitted a report via the form for a bug where I cannot restored trimmed pixels with an imagesheet. It looks like this is an existing bug reported on 7/11/2012 and assigned to a few people but never fixed. Bug ID: 15619.

I’ve responded to your bug report but just thought I would mention it here. The problem I found was not a imageSheet issue, but a problem in your 4X image because it was not 4X of the original image. This caused Corona to try to fit this odd size image into 320x480 footprint, which distorted the image in 4X mode.

That was a different issue all together. The issue in this thread is trimming imagesheets not restoring the transparent pixels that were trimmed or cropped. It seems to be listed as an existing bug report 15619.
