Importing from Zip?

I’m struggling to import previous projects into LUA Glider. I suspect I’m doing somehting pretty stupid, so if somebody could give me a heads up that would be most appreciated.

I’m currently zipping up the project and then selecting Import Project; I choose the zip file and select a folder which I presume is the destination for the unpzcked zip file.

However after doing this I note that the project is listed in the Projects window as __MACOSX and all files contained within are in the following format ._fileName and appear to have been formatted. When you open them in lua Glider, they display a list of bizarre characters.

Any help would be appreciated, I’ve done this with two different project with the same result on both occasions.

Hello SegaBoy,

Thanks for the feedback. Strangely the import from zip function seems to work fine on our windows and mac machines. Could you try extracting the zip file manually and seeing if it works? Is there any reason to import it like that rather than extracting and then opening it in Glider?

Hi, I’m probably being extremely stupid but I thought that was the only process for importing exisiting projects into Glider - how else would I go about it?

For example, I have a project ‘Test01’ which contains all my files lua, images, sound, etc…), but I can’t see anyway to opent hat inside Glider beyond Import Project ?!? [import]uid: 33275 topic_id: 35431 reply_id: 141169[/import]

Hello SegaBoy,

No problem. Probably the easiest way to do it is to drag and drop the folder into glider or click open project and navigate to the folder. A “project” in Glider is defined as any folder with a main.lua.
