So I was able to purchase the in app purchase I set up. But at the bottom of the message it says.

Does this go away when the app is released? Or do I have to do anything else?

When you build application using distributing provisioning profile and application is approved on app store after that that message will be remove.
Environment Sandbox is coming because you build using developer provisioning profile so dont worry.
