Including Appodeal causing unable to do iOs build

Hi guys,

I had some problems with building my game 2-3 weeks ago.

I have discovered that Appodeal plugin is causing iOs build (5) errors, i.e “empty response from server”

Today, I copied Corona Hello World example, and inserted Appodeal chunk of code in Hello World build.settings

I got iOs build (11) error.

You can try out zipped Hello World example, attached.

Is there some problem with Appodeal plugin?

What ad/reward ad alternative do you suggest for me?

I am basic user (for now), and I am using Corona SDK latest stable build 2016.3012

I built an app using Appodeal just fine with iOS. Appodeal is really large and if there are questionable network connections between you and our servers it might time out.

I tried 10 times in last two weeks.
I am in Croatia.
Maybe US connections are preffered.

I will try again tomorrow.
App builds worked well, without Appodeal.

Appodeal is definitely NOT working.

Here is response from server.

Jan 20 08:45:37.730 ERROR: XMLRPC: The request timed out. Jan 20 08:45:38.541 WebServices: XMLRPC request failed Jan 20 08:46:02.632 iOS build failed (11) Jan 20 08:46:02.632 ERROR: Build Failed: The request timed out.

I just replaced Hello World build.settings with facebook ad plugin, and app built OK.

But response was very slow, without facebook app built in 15 sec, and with facebook it built in 7-10 minutes.

In last one month or so I am experiencing slow server responses when any of the plugin in included in build.settings.

I will have to find other monetization options instead of Appodeal.

According to the log you posted above you are using Corona 2016.2871 and not 2016.3012 as you mentioned before.

Note: To use the latest Appodeal plugin version you should use Corona build 2016.3016 or later.

It looks like you are experiencing networking issues of some kind, as I took your ‘Hello World with APPODEAL.zip’ and compiled it for iOS without any issues (I’m using 2017.3023). The build took 87 seconds to complete.

You mentioned testing with Facebook. If it takes 7-10 minutes to build with Facebook only, there is definitely something strange with your internet connection. For me the Facebook build completes in 27 seconds.

I’m based in South Korea, and sometimes I also see that build times take longer than usual. In those circumstances I’ve noticed that using a VPN service helps speed up build times.

Yes with latest daily build.

I had few Corona versions installed (that was the problem)!
