Inmobi not anymore supported?

Hi There,

is that true, InMobi is not supported anymore… it is/was the best paying AdNetwork??

I have a bug in a InMobi Ad see bellow. and InMobi wrote me following.

Hi Christian,
 

Below is what our tech team had to say:

 

“We were supporting Corona till last year. During that time, they were providing InMobi plugin for serving ads on their platform and later when they updated their SDK, they asked us to update the InMobi plugin to support the Corona SDK, which we are not doing and so we are unable to support the Corona sdk. 
 
Please recommend the publisher to integrate using API.”

 

Based on the above, I would suggest making a server to server call using the API. Hope this clears your doubt.

I hope also very SOON, as I like to release in the next days!!

The Error I got in the Browser (instead leading me to appstore or a page) is

I get 

{“success”:false,“errors”:[“site_id (mobile app ID) or package_name is required in click request.”,"#0 /data/www/api/tracking_engine/tracking.php(155): TrackingEngine->click()\n#1 /data/www/api/location_handler/index.php(13): TrackingEngine->index()\n#2 {main}"],“uri”:"/serve?action=click"}

 

and it comes from a “SPOTIFY” Ad 

 

When I wrote to InMobi I got the Info above. What should I say else. I wrote already to Walther and hope they can

fix that. It would be a DISASTER!!

I have just contacted Inmobi, and they have confirmed to me that Corona is no longer supported.

Inmobi suggest me to use API to make calls to their server (banners + interstitial ad)

I have the same problem only with Spotify Ad…but I’m still getting impressions and clicks from other Inmobi ads

So here something has to be done immediatly from InMobi

It is a shame to ask us by email if we have suggestions for “NEW” things and 

again as in all that years, that what is already there is not maintained proper !!!

I expect as a long Client from Corona (who even increased its prices)

that this Topic comes PRIO. We make our Living from Ads and Corona should not

priorize KIDS Playing around, otherwise its the wrong Framework for Pros.

There was already lots of stuff that made us unhappy, so I really wish Coronalabs

does THIS Time listen and fix that issue.

I started already to keep an Eye on Unity as it supports even more Platforms and comes

easier now to code with and Result even comes smaller in size.

CoronaLabs, as much I love u… u have to do something N>O>W !

I can imagine this becoming a stand-off… Lately we have been hearing many success stories where Corona Labs managed to get other companies to create plugins for their services. These were mostly new comers hungry for our business… Now we see CL trying to do the same with a more established player who apparently has enough business and don’t care much if they loose the developers using Corona SDK… So the question then becomes… Will CL go back to old model and build the plugin themselves?

Hi everyone. This is actually not true. We did not change anything on our side regarding Inmobi. 

In fact, Inmobi is internally working on a plugin that will be updated and that they will maintain. But, as with other bigger companies, we have little visibility into how long that will take.

BUT - the Inmobi plugin that was there yesterday, is still there today. And it should still work just like it worked yesterday.

bongly - Unfortunately any new functionality will depend on the new plugin (which they are developing). And that’s what I dont have a good feel for right now.

HI David, as wrote in mail.
On your Side i would really put some push on InMobi or fix it your own.

For such a project has to be a professional timeframe. Its not a simple feature, its our income.

I would not say a word if it would be as said, that the InMobi SDK works as always.

Thats just not true. As especially that Spotify Ad works fine in an older Corona build, but not in the latest ones.

I know u do ur best, just try to do a bit better, as for many of us we could loose lots of money if that adnetwork

does not work proper.

Hi Chris

I’m from the InMobi team and I can confirm that the latest SDK does not currently support Corona. Although we are internally working on the latest release which does support Corona. This SDK will be out very soon.

I will post it here when the SDK is formally launched.

Hi Everyone - just to clarify a little bit on what Sohan said:

He means that the latest Inmobi SDK is not currently supported with Corona. That isn’t new - the current Inmobi plugin has an older Inmobi SDK in it. As Sohan said, they are currently working on a plugin built by them that will be fully updated.

Having said that, as far as I know, the Inmobi plugin that is currently available does work. Admittedly, it is not the latest version and so may be missing some things.
