Install Corona SDK on Windows 8 64 bit

Hi all,

I am able to install the Corona SDK successfully on my Windows 8 machine, but the simulator does not run.

I have tried starting the program in compatibility mode with Windows XP SP 3 and I have run it as the admin.  However, it just opens and immediately says the Corona Simulator has stopped working.

When I debug the following error appears:

Unhandled exception at 0x045113A0 (ig7icd32.dll) in Corona Simulator.exe: 0xC000041D: An unhandled exception was encountered during a user callback.

Any advice?

Michael,

This is most likely a video driver issue. We would recommend that you run Windows update and/or update your video driver. We do test Corona on 64 bit Windows and it should run fine.

Can you give it a try?

Did you upgrade to Windows 8 on the machine that crashes running Corona? If so the problem is with the graphics driver supplied with the Windows 8 upgrade. You need to install a more recent driver from the graphics chip manufacturer. Other users had this problem and upgrading the graphics driver solved the problem.

2 steps - update opengl drivers (your graphic card’s) and install java sdk. Tested :slight_smile:

Hi all,

After installing the latest graphics 2.0 build, the simulator appeared to open but immediately displayed “Corona Simulator has stopped working.”  I was told that my problem could be the graphics driver but I think it’s current.  I have OpenGL 2.0 and the driver version 8.15.10.1930, and Intel 965/963 Graphics Media Accelerator.  Does any of these need to be updated? 

I’m about to start on a new project and would really want to be on graphics 2.  I would appreciate any help I can get.

I had the same issue but under another architecture, windows 7 utltimate 64 bit service pack 1.

I’ve been using JSE development kit 6 21 update and when i install and run corona sdk the program crashes, after that, i’ve installed JSE development kit 6 24 and configured the envirment variables, then installed corona SDK and it worked just fine.

After Installing I am consistently asked to login with my email and password which I did but kept on having unable to connect to your server. There is this   Corona Simulator Output that give a report like this:

Warning : unknown Skin"

platform : GT-I9300/x64/Intel<R> HD Graphics 4000/4.0.0- Build 9.17

WArning : display.setstatusBarMode<> not supported in the simulator for GT-I9300 device.

Pls must I necessarily login before I can use the software ? Need a quick help
