Installation stopped at around 90% using Apple TestFlight app

I have a small problem using the new Apple TestFlight app. I submitted an app (the Corona Hello World sample app) to the app store and enabled Beta Testing, everything worked fined.

When I try to install the app using the TestFlight app, the app downloads and installs properly but the installation progress inside the TestFlight app stalls at around 90%. If I manually close the Testflight app, I can see that the app was installed and I can run the app. When I restart the TestFlight app, the app I just installed shows the ‘Update’ button.

Has anyone else experienced this? or know a fix?

Note: I am using Corona 2015.2543

TestFlight has been very buggy for myself and a few other people I know. I’m pretty sure it’s TestFlight-related and not Corona, but I’m not 100% certain.

I agree - several people who are currently testing my game are experiencing this same issue, but for others it works fine.

I’ve also had trouble with the email invitation to Test Flight. Apart from some people not even getting it, for others it will always send them to the app store, even after they already have Test Flight installed.  The only work around has been to manually copy/paste the link into a new email that they send to themselves…

I’m having the 90% issue as well + the issue with invitations not getting send. Crazy how buggy this is. The 90% issue might be related to Airsign in my case, at least I hope so. Then the next public build might fix that : )

TestFlightApp.com will be closed by the end of next month. Hope this problem will be fixed soon.

I’m having the same problem… 90% complete in TestFlight, but I can still launch the application. So not a blocking issue - but I’m sure it will confuse some testers!

Edit: Actually for some, it won’t even start to download / install…

Yeah I have the same issue but like RIck Kelly stated, the app still gets installed on your phone if you check.

So the app refused to install on my brother’s iPhone 6 Plus. We eventually learned it was because his phone was not on a wifi connection. There were no error messages or notifications to tell him what the problem was.

So if your game is too large to be downloaded over cellular and the user is having problems installing it - make sure they are on a wifi connection…

Hi;

This is happening (stalls at 90% installed) with my app in TestFlight on a fair number of people’s devices. If they wait just a bit after it stalls, the icon for the app will turn its normal color and the app will run just fine.

I am assuming it is more an Apple thing than something that can be addressed by Corona. But I can’t see anything anywhere on the web about Apple addressing it. Lousy situation to have to tell all Beta testers that my app isn’t broken when this happens.

Any insights from anyone?

Steve

I think it is mostly an apple thing. Their test flight app seems to be… lacking in regards to messaging, error reporting, etc. So even if it is a corona-thing, it sure as heck wouldn’t tell you.

Although like you said - I’ve only heard complaints from Corona folks, so that is suspect. Might have to do with the asinine way we need to sign the app for distribution.

Not sure if it is related - but the test flight app doesn’t correctly report the size of my app.
