Installing free SDK on more than 2 computers

Is it not possible to have Corona SDK (free version) installed on 3 computers?

I have been using a slightly older version of the SDK for a while on my two home computers (PC and Mac for builds) and my work computer (PC). Today I installed the latest version on my work computer and it says that I have to deauthorize one of my other computers first. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong?

Ah, I see on this page it mentions only 2 computers:

But why??? Isn’t it supposed to be free? What is the point of limiting how many computers the free version runs on?

Hi Jeff,

I would need to confirm with the sales people, but I believe this restriction is in place so that if you do upgrade, the SDK will recognize the 2 development computers for the account and mesh them with the upgrade. Apologies for this inconvenience, but one option is to create an additional free account for each pair of machines that you want to install the SDK on beyond the initial two.

Sincerely,

Brent Sorrentino

Thanks Brent. I did what you suggested and just created another account. It would be more elegant though if the system recognized the version (pro vs starter) and varied the install restrictions accordingly.

Cheers,

Jeff
