Hi folks!
I am new to Corona SDK. I am looking to illustrate and develop my own high quality kids book apps and possibly hybrid edu-tainment books for adults too. I’ve been looking at 2D game engines like Construct 2 and Gamesalad as a way to develop code-free. But i feel that Corona offers a more professional and rock-solid framework for book app developers - those aforementioned game engines were never intended for large interactive books with file sizes weighing in at over 80mb, and their memory management is lousy or non-existent.
I saw the FREE Corona SDK and my question is: Is the FREE version all i need to create such apps, and how much performance improvement would Graphics 2.0 give me or is that more for high spec games? You might also be so kind as to mention any third-party tools that would help me learn and develop with Corona. Please note, i don’t want to use Kwiksher as i am intending to add more refined animation, ragdoll physics etc to my pages similar to the Wizard of Oz app by Boluga Apps >>Youtube Demo HERE
Many thanks in advance
Hi @kieranmartin62,
For interactive books, I believe the free version would be fine, and you can build a very nice-looking e-book using the basic features. Only if you want the more advanced Graphics 2.0 features would you need to use Pro… I suppose those features could be used to make a visually-advanced e-book, but they tend to be more related to game development, utility apps, etc.
Hope this helps,
Brent Sorrentino
