iOS complitation/build on Windows

Corona appears to be most productive framework for mobile development, but Lacks the important capability to complie/build iOS application on Windows, even for development only, like Marmalade and OpenPlug frameworks does and have.
Considering it’s feasible and Marmalade can compile and build iOS applictions on Windows with Visual Studio and GCC cross compilation for iOS and Android, I’d like to request:
. Ansca Mobile / Mr. Carlos to offer this capability in his productive Ansca Mobile tool

Technically is possible to off-line compile in Windows for iOS, see bellow:

It is technically possible.

But it is also possible for Apple to one day cut off any app that is not produced on non-Apple branded machines.

There is the Apple vs Flash fiasco of April 2010. And we certainly don’t want to be in a position where Apple cuts off Corona SDK based apps because they were not produced in Apple branded machines using Xcode tools.

Could this happen? I certainly wound’t want us to be in a position where all our developers apps are compromised due to Apple one day saying enough. They did it once, who is to say they won’t do it again?

Our commitment is to the success of our developers and I, we, will do whatever it takes to maintain the trust and loyalty from each one of our developers and we would not do anything to compromise the relationship.

C

ps: please don’t ask me again. Been here, done that. And we all seen what Apple can do.

The only way you can build iphone apps in Windows is using virtual machine(VMware,VirtualBox). As well you will need to find Hackintosh appropriate with your hardware. [import]uid: 49851 topic_id: 17151 reply_id: 64618[/import]

Mr. Carlos, Thanks for your explanation.
I understand your points and Apple rules to iOS development. Rules are rules and we need to follow.

In my point of view things don’t need to be in extremes.

Production version of mobile application using CoronaSDK, per Apple rules, requires developer/studio to compile, sign and upload it through an Apple equipment.

Development and Test cycle of an Alpha/Beta version of a mobile application using CoronaSDK (unit testing and user acceptance test), per Apple’s rules, didn’t appears to have a restriction to these cycle be executed outside an Apple equipment.

In this way, if my understanding is Ok …

For simulated version and/or Ad-hoc testing cycles (not final iOS application distribution), appears to be possible to have a non-Apple equipment to development steps to produce tests versions in the iOS Software simulation and/or Ad-hoc deployment through Apple’s iTunes.

Can Ansca Mobile considers this alternative: iOS Ad-hoc alpha/beta version generated in Windows CoronaSDK, with iOS Mobile production version signed and uploaded only available through an CoronaSDK for iOS on Mac equipments ?

Just buy MacBook Pro and you will never think about Windows again  [import]uid: 12704 topic_id: 17151 reply_id: 65072[/import]

Read 2.6 of the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement

There are huge and old discussion about “iPhone Developer Program License Agreement”, item 2.6 among others in Corona’s forum:
http://blog.anscamobile.com/2010/03/does-flash-cs5-for-windows-violate-the-iphone-developer-agreement
http://blog.anscamobile.com/2010/04/do-apples-new-rules-affect-you

There isn’t an agreement in the theme, but there are many tools in the market allowing to code, build, sign and upload iOS applications on non-Apple environment, like Marmalade, OpenPlug and even Adobe. These tools have many developers using and posting their games and applications on Apple Store with this toolsets without any restriction or difficulties with Apple.

Corona is very nice and productivity tool, with a huge easy of use framework with more than 500 APIs, using a very nice and easy high level script language: LUA, it’s easy to learn and teach, among others great adjectives.

It will be clearly an advantage to Corona, Ansca Mobile and development ecosystem to have it fully available on Windows for iOS coding, development, testing and deployment.

It will really NICE TO HAVE FEATURE for the Market, it will increase the potential number of Subscribers, games and Applicatins on Apple Store, giving Ansca more Capital/money to continue to invest on Corona.

Please, considers this request tomhsve this feature. Could it be ?

Make an Pool in the web to see what others think about this feature.
