IOS6 and Xcode 4.5 GM question?

Hi guys,

I have been very busy with my app dev and just now looking at releasing issues. It seems that I am so sloooow at app dev that many things have changed since then…

I have try to search this forum (and use google) but I am not completely sure of the steps needed to make my app compatible with IOS6.

1- Is is just simply a matter of updating Xcode to 4.5 GM?

2- What do I need to worry about when updating to the newest Xcode? Would that change my current provisioning profiles?

3- Which minimum build is compatible with IOS6? I am running 890 right now.

Thanks a lot guys!

For best results:

  • Use the latest daily build (we are trying to get a new stable release out that officially supports iOS 6)
  • Install the latest stable Xcode (currently 4.5.1)

You shouldn’t need to worry about changing provisioning profiles.

If are upgrading from Xcode 4.2 or earlier, you may need to run:
sudo xcode-select /Applications/Xcode.app
to tell your system where you new Xcode 4.5.1 is located.

I think Build 919 was the first official iOS 6 compatible build. (Corresponds to the iOS 6 launch date.) But we’ve added additional bug fixes since then.

Thanks so much Ewing! I really appreciate it. Yes I upgrading from 4.3.2 I believe so I hope I do not have to miss with sudo xcode…

Thanks again.
