Upgraded my iPhone to iOS7.
Tried to connect it with the mac but it complains new version is required.
Trying to update to XCode 5 but OS X 10.8.4 or higher is needed.
I have OS X 10.7.4.
Now I have to buy the 10.8.5 for $19,99 ???

Hi @ubj3d.android,
Yes, this appears to be the case, unless Apple releases a version of XCode5 for 10.7.x. Non-authoritatively speaking, I wouldn’t anticipate this happening.

Thank you for your fast reply.

My Mac won’t allow me to upgrade to OSX 10.8.4. Must be too old.
Can anyone let me know if I am gonna be stuck when Corona updates it’s builds for iOS7 only?
Will I still be able to build for 6.1 using up to date daily builds in future, or will I need to purchase a more modern mac?
I’m asking engineering.
Apps built with the Simulator using the iOS7 SDK run fine on iOS6 (and iOS5.1) devices and can be installed on those devices using Xcode 4.X.
Obviously, if you want to install on an iOS7 device you have to have a setup that allows for that which is an Apple thing.
Thank you for the clarification Perry
Ok so what does this mean for the 30 apps i made over the last 2 years? will they not work on a IOS7 device unless i rebuild ALL of them?
Which would mean I would have to upgrade code to all of them for the changes that have taken place in corona itself over 2 years?
I have no idea how you got that from what I said. Who mentioned rebuilding anything?
While I think you might have heard about it already if your apps don’t work on iOS7, I would encourage you to try your apps on an iOS7 device yourself and see that they work fine.
from your statement

and i want all my apps to be installed on the new iphones with IOS7…
BUT none of them were ever built with the “new setup”… you say i need in order to install them on a IOS7 device…

I meant “you” as in “the application developer” and “install” as in “transfer the .app bundle from a Mac to an iOS device after building it” because I was speaking in the context of building applications.
I’m sorry if it wasn’t clear that none of this discussion has anything to do with people downloading apps from the iTunes Store. And, to reiterate, if the problem you are worried about was real, I think you’d have heard about it by now.
