I also really need to be able to show the camera at full screen on the ipad2. Any idea when this might get sorted for?

Did you try the daily build yesterday? I thought we fixed the fullscreen camera 2 days ago.
I don’t think there is currently any way to overlay an image (though I might be wrong…give it a try). Future versions of iOS might make this more possible. (Don’t have a clue about Android though.)
