iphon 1x, iphone4 2x but ipad 1x ???

hi im having a hard time with this…

in simulator i see ipad 2x
but if i do my build for iphone i install this app on my iphone and iphone4 isee 1x and 2x but when its for ipad i see just the 1x images…
when i do an ipad build i do see 2x images…
sooo the question is…
is there a way to do a single buil for having 1x on iphone, 2 x on iphone 4 and 2x pn ipad ?

and wy iphone build in iphad works like iphone 3g and not like iphone 4 even if the ipad can handle iphon4 resolution ?..

Ok. I can definately answer this one. It took me a while but I got it.
You have to make sure you have three image sizes on hand of course.

This is what I use and it works.

application =  
{  
 content =  
 {  
 width = 320,  
 height = 480,  
 scale = "letterbox",  
 fps = 60,  
 imageSuffix =  
 {  
 ["\_iPh4"] = 2,  
 ["\_iPad"] = 2.4,  
 },  
 },  
}  
  

The numbers being the size ratio.

Remember that you need to use:

local imageName = display.newImageRect("imageName.png",[iPh3imageSize.x],[iPh3imageSize.y], true )  

So the images that you should have should be:
imageName.png - iPh3 size
imageName_iPh4.png - iPh4 size
imageName_iPad.png - iPad size

Hi alcamie, thanks for your time.
But still doesn’t work for me.

I don’t want to support iPad resolution.
I only want to support all iPhone screen resolutions. That means support 320x480 and 640x960.

A normal iPhone app (with retina display support) running in iPad should work at 640x960.
My Corona iPhone app (with support of 1x and 2x image size) running in iPad have a resolution of 320x480 instead of 640x960.

I got Sonic4 running on my iPod touch (2nd Generation) at a resolution of 320x480. the same game, Sonic4 on my iPad works at a resolution of 640x960. And the same game on iPhone4 should work at 640x960. Sonic4 is not for iPad (1024x768) but can work like iPhone4 (640x960).

For me this is something that is out of my hands. Corona should fix it in the next update.
Really there’s no sense to deploy a game with x3 times the resources.

I give a try to Corona because the small deployment size, but now a Corona game with many resources and support for different screen resolutions is worse that other tools.
