Well remember the iPhone 4 has retina display so it could help you when creating an app to make sure everything is scaled correctly and that everything is in the correct place but on the other hand, iPod touch is a lot cheaper but if I were you, I would get the iPhone 4. You can develop and test your app on an iPod Touch and then assume it works OK on the iPhone.
There are only a few minor things I can think of that you couldn’t test on the iPod. For example, your app can make the iPhone vibrate. I don’t think the iPod or iPad have the hardware to vibrate. I usually test that my apps pause correctly when a call comes in while playing. That’s a test I couldn’t do on the iPod, but my CoronaSDK apps work OK with no special programming by me. So, this is a test I think you could safely skip.
Do you need a new cell phone? Are you willing to pay the monthly cell and data fees for the iPhone? If yes, then get the iPhone instead of the iPod.If no, the iPod is a better choice. [import]uid: 67839 topic_id: 23640 reply_id: 94925[/import]
Current iPod touch has a retina display.
I don’t think it has a GPS (but can use wi-fi for location). [import]uid: 7563 topic_id: 23640 reply_id: 94970[/import]
-> so the ipod touch is more or less the same as the iphone 4 (not the s version) with 2 differences: no gps, no phone (of course), no siri, worse camera. Seems fine for me if I don’t need a new phone. [import]uid: 87749 topic_id: 23640 reply_id: 95236[/import]
