iPhone 5 application size issue.

Hello.

I’ve been working on a game with and for the company I work in, and finally after a few months of work I got an iPhone 5 to work with.

This game is for the iPhone 4/S, 5 and Galaxy S3 (and 4 maybe…) for now, but so far I’ve been able to test it on the Galaxy and the iPhone 4 and 4S, which works just fine.

When I’ve tried it now on the iPhone 5, the application was not shown full screen, but it was the same size as the iPhone 4, with black bars above and under the application.

Now I know this was answered here : http://forums.coronalabs.com/topic/38632-iphone-5-compatibility/, but my base line is different, since I have double the size of the baseline screen resolution then the person on that thread, and I have higher resolution images for the Galaxy and the iPhone 5, but still the iPhone 5 shows the game as if it was on iPhone 4.

What could be the problem??

Thanks.

Yuval.

Hi, Yuval @formatc, do you have Default-568h@2x.png file added to your project?  Default-568h@2x.png should be 640x1136.

Nope, I don’t have that… I don’t remember seeing I need one of these… should I also use it somewhere in code, or is it enough to have it in the folder while compiling??

If you can point me to the documentation for this I would be grateful, seeing if there is anything else I need to do, also, can I have this file a blank png, or I have to use it as a splash screen??

Thanks again Naomi, I’m going to try this out right now and I’ll let you know if this does it for me

Yuval.

Yep, that did the trick, just the image file (black png) in the folder, and it works fine now on the iphone5, thanks again Naomi, you’re a star!

Hi Yuval @formatc, glad to help.  BTW, you might want to use Default-568h@2x.png as your splash screen (instead of black image.)  Mine is a splash screen.
