I went the cheap route. I signed up for a free blogger.com account, put in a template that I found, bought a domain name and linked it. Total cost was $5 (for domain registration). I had to do some work to customize it to my liking but blogger helps you with that. I also looked into wordpress, but much more difficult to use a custom template and you have to buy your own website hosting service. With wordpress you get a lot more options for iphone developer templates:

http://wplift.com/wordpress-themes-for-iphone-saas-web-app-developers/

Again, you have to pay for the themes and hosting. It’s also a real pain to get up and running but the options in the back end are much more powerful than blogger. [import]uid: 31262 topic_id: 13245 reply_id: 48609[/import]

Any examples of app websites created with iAppHost?

Thank you. [import]uid: 67445 topic_id: 13245 reply_id: 48780[/import]

Not sure about iAppHost, but have you seen AppifyWP? Its hands down the best wordpress theme for promoting apps. [import]uid: 161417 topic_id: 13245 reply_id: 114110[/import]

Okay, I’ve some tools name in mind for iPhone web design development work. I’ve used recently “source viewer” tool to deal with HTML, CSS and Javascript source code for my website and it’s really works good. You can try it. Thanks.

ok so to market your app (I’m finishing up mine, just waiting on artwork) you pretty much need:

  • hosting, $5-$7/month for decent service
  • Wordpress - free to download and install
  • theme - appifyWP - $49 per app
  • Facebook page - free to set up
  • twitter account - free to set up
  • app review sites - a lot of them can be submitted for free
  • video walk-thru of your app - I like screenflow ($99)
I know that appifyWP has a developer account for $149 (unlimited sites) and once you have screenflow you are good to go.

I will probably be buying appifyWP for my upcoming app, but I’m on the fence as to buying the single or the developers license. Does anyone have an interest in reducing their cost and splitting some of this? I already have a reseller account for Hostgator and screenflow is on my Mac, but I haven’t invested in appifyWP yet. My first app doesn’t really have a budget, so anything I spend out of pocket is that much more the app needs to earn. I like the idea of reducing my initial cost per app. [import]uid: 146178 topic_id: 13245 reply_id: 135457[/import]
